  • Botanical Description: Agave sisalana is a large, perennial succulent plant that forms a rosette of thick, fleshy leaves. The leaves are sword-shaped, rigid, and typically grow 0.6 to 1.5 meters long. They are green to gray-green, have a pointed tip, and may have small teeth along the edges. The plant produces a tall flowering stalk (up to 6 meters) with clusters of yellowish flowers. However, it typically flowers only once after several years and then dies, with new plants growing from the base.
