Botanical Description: Hibiscus rosa-sinensis is a perennial shrub or small tree that can grow up to 5 meters (16 feet) tall. The leaves are glossy, dark green, ovate to lanceolate in shape, and have serrated edges. The flowers are large, trumpet-shaped, and can be up to 20 cm (8 inches) in diameter. They come in a wide range of colors, including red, pink, yellow, white, and orange. The flowers typically have five petals and a prominent central staminal column. The fruit is a dry five-lobed capsule that contains several seeds, but it is rarely seen as the plant is usually propagated by cuttings.
