  • Botanical Description: The leaves of Antiaris toxicaria are simple, alternate, and have an oval shape with a pointed tip. They are dark green on the upper surface and lighter underneath. The plant produces small, inconspicuous flowers. Male and female flowers are usually found on the same tree. It produces small, round fruits that are fleshy and often red or yellow when ripe. Antiaris toxicaria is a large deciduous tree that can grow up to 25-40 meters tall with a trunk diameter of up to 1 meter.
