  • Botanical Description: Napoleona imperialis is a small to medium-sized evergreen tree that can grow up to 10-15 meters tall. The leaves are simple, alternate, and oblong to elliptic in shape with a glossy green surface. The flowers are the most striking feature of this plant. They are large, showy, and complex, resembling a hat or cap, which gives the plant its common name. The flowers have a unique structure with a combination of white, pink, and red colors, and are often produced in clusters directly on the trunk or branches (a characteristic known as cauliflory). The fruit is a woody capsule that contains several seeds.
