  • Botanical Description: Ocimum gratissimum is a perennial herbaceous plant that can grow up to 1-2 meters in height. It has aromatic leaves and stems. The leaves are opposite, ovate to elliptic in shape, and have serrated edges. They are green and often hairy, with a strong clove-like scent when crushed. The flowers are small, white to lavender, and arranged in terminal spikes. They are attractive to pollinators such as bees and butterflies.
